SharePoint is a browser-based platform designed to encourage and support collaboration between company coworkers. It is available entirely online or integrated into your company's intranet, and can be used in conjunction with Office 365. Regardless of the delivery method, SharePoint comes with a number of key features, including a newsfeed, the OneDrive for Business file storage space, and Sites. This training course will introduce you to all these different features and show you how to navigate between the different components once you have signed in to the service. The newsfeed is SharePoint's social hub, which can be used to track user activity on the network and stay up to date on the latest changes to documents and sites. Individuals can create their own user profile and share news and announcements via the conversation tools. SharePoint also includes the Sites component, which allows users to create internal sites for centralizing work on a particular project or in a specific department. These sites can be customized in a number of different ways, including through the addition of apps, libraries and lists, and the modification of the site's theme, color scheme and font style. To do lists can be created, tasks managed and completed, and projects tracked. File storage can be done via document or image libraries, and certain file types - such as text documents, spreadsheets and presentations - can be edited online using the Office Web Apps suite. Individuals can also use OneNote to create their own online notebooks associated with particular sites or accounts. If users have been granted administrator privileges, they can edit, customize and manage the SharePoint platform itself. Discover how to use and get familiar with what SharePoint has to offer.
